When the Model Supermarkets franchise agreement with Woolworths came to an end in 1997, a new agreement was entered into with Pick n Pay and the first store was opened at Wernhil Park in Windhoek. Pick n Pay Namibia applies the franchise concept of the very successful Pick n Pay South Africa Group, which was previously voted the world’s best retailer- an international award recognizing excellence and distinguished service to the retail sector. The retailer’s current footprint includes 23 stores across Namibia offering a variety of quality and premium products at competitive prices.

Our in-store speciality areas include bakery, butchery, hotpot and deli and we also offer clothing and liquor stores. We support Namibian Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises to ensure we grow the Namibian economy through an entrepreneurial approach by listing local suppliers who qualify to sell their products through our stores. Apart from our in-store speciality areas we also offer a variety of smart services through our tills such as COW Rates & Taxes, Water & Electricity bill payments, prepaid electricity, DSTV and Go-TV payments, Go-TV decoder sales as well as airtime purchases.

The Otavifontein farm has been in the O&L Group for many years and has in parts been leased from O&L by Pick n Pay via Natural Value Foods as a venture to add Namibian value to the lives of Namibians. The farm comprises of 2700 hectares of land which includes irrigation pivots as well as dry crops and farmland. Currently spinach, cabbage, barley and oats are the vegetables grown at the farm for commercial purposes. All vegetables grown at this farm is available on all Pick n Pay shelves countrywide.
Pick n Pay Namibia currently employs more than 2300 staff members across the country. The group has grown substantially with 23 established stores across Namibia and continues to increase its footprint.
